| The greatest natural resource of any nation is its youth. Thus, the surest way to guarantee the future freedom and prosperity of this country is to assist our young people to fulfill their highest potential on every level so they may become the enlightened leaders of tomorrow.
Beehive Science & Technology Academy, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 public charter school, is a response to the common demand for betterment of public education in Utah. The project was initiated by a group of community activists and university educators at the Beehive Educational Services, a non-profit organization founded in 2004, to provide 7th-12thgraders from ethnically diverse backgrounds with a comprehensive, integrated education in the humanities and social sciences - and an in-depth immersion in science, mathematics and technology. BSTA was approved by the USOE Board in December 2004. The school opened its doors to public in August 2005. BSTA has been founded with a limited budget comprised of small donations from individuals and local companies. The school is funded in principle by the state of Utah based on the number of students. However, this funding does not contain allowances for start-up costs such as remodeling, furniture, educational equipment, as well as other special programs and extra-curricular activities. Moreover, as a charter school BSTA receives less public funding than district schools. Therefore, we are now seeking corporate partners, foundations, and individual sponsors who are willing to provide mentoring, internships, equipment, and/or capital to enrich the educational experience for our students. Not only will donors receive wide recognition within the community for their contributions, they will also have a direct hand in preparing the young people who may one day staff and lead their organizations or serve the American public at different capacities.
