BEEHIVE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY ANNOUNCES
TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION YEAR
Commencing activities launch with Beehive Student Celebration eek January 12 -16, 2026.
Sandy, Utah— Beehive Science and Technology Academy charter school, located at 2165 E. 9400 S. Sandy, UT, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and will host commencing activities during the Beehive Student Celebration Week January 12-16, 2026. The anniversary theme is “Rewind 20 Years of Learning in Motion: Honoring our Past, Powering our Future.” Activities launch with a Time Capsule Assembly on Monday, January 12 from 8:20 -9:45 a.m. with the High School and Middle School students.
The celebratory assembly will be hosted by the Beehive Academy Student Council and includes a 35minute program with a video montage celebrating 20 years of Beehive Academy highlights. The event closes with a time capsule ceremony in which items will be assembled to be enclosed in the capsule at a later date. The capsule will be labeled and then opened for Beehive Science and Technology Academy’s 40th anniversary in 2046.
Beehive Science and Technology Academy Director Hanifi Oguz said, “Beehive Academy is proud to have established a solid foundation in STEM education for a diverse student base in Utah for the past 20 years. We have had many local and national recognitions in the timeframe from when we started in 2005 in Salt Lake City to our latest campus in Sandy, including ranked by US News and World Report as the Top Utah High School from 2021-2025. In those years, we grew from serving grades 7 -8 and now serving grades Kindergarten -12. We are looking forward to announcing a future expansion and opportunity to serve more students in a new location to be announced later this year.”
The student celebration week was designed to foster school pride and unity through activities that connect students to Beehive Science and Technology Academy’s 20-year history. Activities include daily dress-up themes, the unveiling and naming of the new school mascot, art and essay contests, and sharing three artistic renditions of the original Beehive Academy school buildings in Salt Lake City from 2005 and the two Sandy locations in 2010 and 2022.
Beehive Science and Technology Academy (Beehive Academy) is located in Sandy, UT providing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focused curriculum and well-rounded programs designed to offer students a solid foundation in humanities and social science with a variety of after school clubs for students in grades K through 12.
