BEEHIVE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY ANNOUNCES STUDENTS AWARDED IN HEALTH OCCUPATION STUDENTS OF AMERICA STATE CONFERENCE

Sandy, Utah— Beehive Science and Technology Academy, a Sandy-based, tuition-free, public charter school established in 2005, announces students from Beehive Academy made a significant impact at the recent Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Conference held at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah. Competing in a variety of categories, Beehive Academy students demonstrated excellence and passion for the health sciences, earning impressive placements and showcasing their skills on a statewide stage.

Beehive Science and Technology Academy acknowledges the following students for their accomplishments. Kristy Zhu earned a 3rd place in Persuasive Writing and also secured a spot in the Top 10 in Biotech, highlighting her talent in both written communication and scientific knowledge. Cindy Li secured 1st place, in the Biotech category while also earning 2nd place in Dental Terminology, showcasing her versatility and expertise in the health sciences field. Nur Azametli, known at the Academy as a strong competitor in multiple disciplines, not only made the Top 10 in Persuasive Writing but also earned a 2nd place in CPR. Additionally, Azametli was teamed with Elmira Aziyeva and the team earned a well-deserved 2nd place in the CPR competition showcasing their teamwork and dedication to the health sciences.

In the Prepared Speaking category, Nicholas Munoz earned 2nd place, demonstratred excellent communication skills and an ability to deliver a well-prepared and impactful presentation. Kaylin Lundell impressed the judges in Veterinary Science, earning a place in the Top 10, reflecting her dedication to advancing her knowledge in the field of animal care. In the Biomedical Debate competition, Nur Azametli, Elmira Aziyeva, Yasmine Hassen, and Rayan Azametli all represented their team with skill and poise, securing a spot in the Top 10, showcasing their ability to work collaboratively and think critically about biomedical issues.

These outstanding achievements reflect the hard work, determination, and talent of Beehive Science and Technology Academy students. Their success at the HOSA State Conference not only brings pride to their school but also sets the stage for future success in the health science fields. Those who did place in the top 3 will have the opportunity to compete at the International Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN this summer,” said Scott Colby, Beehive HOSA Advisor.

They are excellent examples of how our students of Beehive Science and Technology Academy excel and achieve academic excellence in multiple curriculums including humanities, social science, health occupations, as well as math, science, and technology.
