SANDY, UT – New Location and buildout for STEM-focused charter school, Beehive Science & Technology Academy

Beehive Science and Technology Academy announced today that they have chosen another Sandy location for their new home. They currently reside at 830 East, 9400 South and will be moving to 2165 East, 9400 South – previously occupied by Shopko. Silver Peak Engineering is the Architect and One West Construction is their building partner, both operating business in Utah and bringing this vision together.

The new location is 116,602 square feet with the main level at 94,049 square feet and will be the first stage of the build out. The upper level of 22,553 square feet will be finished at an undetermined date.

The building estimated date to be finished and ready to be occupied is July 15th 2022.

Currently, Beehive Science and Technology Academy student enrollment sits around 315 students but will expand to offer enrollment for up to over 900 students, kindergarten age to 12th grade.

Beehive Science & Technology Academy Principal, Hanifi Oguz, described the importance of this building. “I am very excited and thrilled about the growth of the school and how we are now finally able to offer the same quality of education to even more students. Our wonderful STEM program will be part of our Elementary also, and we have spared no expense to be able to have STEM labs, computer labs and engineering programs, offered even to the youngest of students. Being able to include Elementary at this new building, is what we have always wanted to do. We are thrilled to have found Lisa Ronnenkamp as Principal of our Elementary, to help educate our children and put them on the right track from the very beginning. We had outgrown our current location and have been on the search for quite some time and staying in Sandy is something we felt was important to us, as we are able to draw from Murray, Sandy, Draper, Riverton, South Jordan, Bluffdale, Lehi as well as surrounding areas.”

Beehive Science & Technology Academy brings together students of diverse cultures, helping them achieve academic excellence and develop critical skills in an innovative STEM environment. Our students thrive and grow in our supportive learning community, preparing them with the academic, technological and social skills they need to become responsible leaders and contributing global citizens.

We are an open-enrollment, tuition-free charter school, operating under the rules/regulations of the Utah State Board of Education.
