Beehive Academy also awarded 2023 Utah Best of State Public and Charter School Grades K-12

Salt Lake City, UT – Beehive Science and Technology Academy announces substantial growth from 700 to 850 enrolled students for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Located at 2165 East 9400 South in Sandy, UT, Beehive Science and Technology Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school since 2005 that recently expanded to instruct students grades Kindergarten through 12. The school received 2023 Utah Best of State awards for best charter school and best public school K – 12. In addition, Beehive Executive Director, Hanifi Oguz, was named best administrator K – 12, Theresa Musick awarded best music education K-12, April Kritzer designated best support personnel, and Sara Welsh best middle school teacher.

“Since opening in 2005, we at Beehive have continually strived to provide a foundation for student success and have had tremendous enrolment growth from our original platform to instruct 7th -12th grade to our expansion last year that now includes grades K – 12. That is a reflection of all our staff and the family community that supports our hard work and efforts at Beehive Science and Technology Academy,” said Hanifi Oguz, Beehive Executive Director.

Beehive Science and Technology Academy was founded by a group of scholars that saw a need for a school that emphasized science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The curriculum at Beehive is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in humanities and social science as well as math, science and technology. The school’s main objective is to develop students who possess critical thinking skills, mathematical reasoning and complex problem-solving abilities, and who will be equipped for college matriculation and work-ready careers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
