Salt Lake City, UT – Beehive Science and Technology Academy was recently awarded six 2026 Best of State Awards. Located at 2165 East 9400 South in Sandy, UT, Beehive Science and Technology Academy is a Sandy-based, tuition-free, public charter school established in 2005. The school received 2026 Best of State awards for Best Public School K – 12, as well Best Principal, Halis Kablan; Best Student K – 12, Neset Kablan; Best Elementary Teacher Kindergarten, Claire Iti; Best Middle School Teacher, Erum Hussein; and Best High School Teacher, Kayden McInnis.

Beehive Academy students have come from all over the world to learn with a focus on the educational base of STEM. We recognize how the diverse and multicultural society of our school community provides students with a solid foundation to achieve academic excellence and personal skills. Today, we serve students from 58 countries representing over 82 cultural identities. Forty-five percent speak a language other than English at home, with families using at least 60 different languages.”
Beehive Academy is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and has had many local and national recognitions in the timeframe from when the school started in 2005 in Salt Lake City to their current campus in Sandy, including ranked by US News and World Report as the Top Utah High School from 2021-2025. In those years, they grew from serving grades 7 -8 and now serving grades Kindergarten -12. The school is continuously growing looking forward to future expansion opportunities so we can serve more students in Utah.
The Best of State Awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah.
