BEEHIVE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY WINS BIG– FOR BEST PUBLIC-SCHOOL K-12, BEST MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER – KERRIE UPENIEKS AND BEST STUDENT, KETURA MURTHY K-12

Sandy, Utah—Beehive Science and Technology Academy wins Best of State for the second time for Best Public-School K-12.

Kerrie Upenieks wins Best of State Middle School Teacher award for the second time, in the Education Category.

It is the first time that Ketura Murthy was submitted for consideration and has won Best of State for Best Student Award, under the education category.

There were 46 categories under education for this year’s competition (the competition has been held since 2010).

The medal represents excelling and surpassing all else. Winners in each Best of State category are awarded the prestigious Best of State Medal. Each Best of State Medal winners in each of the ten Best of State Awards Program are evaluated to determine which Medal winner is the most outstanding in their division. The Best of State Statue, the BOSS – is awarded to the most outstanding Medal winner in each division.

Beehive Director Hanifi Oguz said “We are thrilled to be nominated for these prestigious awards and to win for Best Public-School K-12, for the second time, is such an honor. We already know we have the best K-12 school but to get recognition for it, is even sweeter. Winning Best of State Middle School Teacher again, with Kerrie Upenieks is well deserved too. She is an outstanding teacher and works hard every day having a passion to teach. Receiving a third award to Ketura Murthy, for Best of State Student, is such an accomplishment also. Ketura is great student, and it is wonderful that she has gotten this award”.

The Best of State Awards Gala will be held on the evening of May 26, 2022, at the Salt Palace Convention Center Grand Ballroom.
