SANDY, UT – Beehive Science and Technology Academy currently has select openings for enrollment in elementary and secondary classes for the 2026-2027 school year. Located at 2165 East 9400 South in Sandy, UT, Beehive Science and Technology Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free, K-12 public charter school established in 2005. Beehive Academy provides a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focused curriculum and programs with other traditional courses, including English, history, and art, as well as a variety of after school clubs for all grades to provide students a solid foundation in humanities and social science. The school has continually grown since first opening from 315 to currently 941 students.
Beehive Academy is proud to have established a solid foundation in STEM education for a diverse student base in Utah for the past 20 years and in those years, Beehive has earned a reputation as one of the area’s premier STEM schools. In 2026, Beehive Academy received its third Platinum Level STEM School Designation by the Utah State Board of Education and the Utah STEM Action Center, which is awarded every five years, as well as national recognition receiving Cognia® School Accreditation and Cognia® STEM Accreditation. Beehive Science and Technology Academy has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the Top Utah High School from 2021- present and also received other local recognitions such as Charter School of the Year designation by the Utah Association of Public Charter Schools and numerous Best of State awards.
Beehive Science and Technology Academy is continually embracing new technology in transforming how students learn. Project-based learning is at the center of Beehive Academy’s STEM learning and certification programs, leading to increased student engagement, collaborative work ethic and real-world culminating projects that showcase students’ understanding and acquisition of academic vocabulary, math conceptual mastery, problem-solving/reasoning skills and computational fluency-automaticity. Beehive Academy is also rich in cultural diversity with students who come from 58 different countries representing 82 different cultural identities.

As recently as this summer, our robotics team competed in the Canaday Cup International Competition and won second place in Robot Design as well as was awarded second place as an Alliance Finalist. Awards like these reflect months of innovation, teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance. We’re so proud of our students for showcasing their talent and representing our school with excellence.”
