Sandy, Utah charter school offers tuition-free, STEM-focused curriculum for grades 6 – 12
SANDY, UT–Beehive Science & Technology Academy hasbeen awarded theSTEM School Designation for five years starting 2021 by the STEM Action Center of Utah. In conjunction with the Utah Board of Education, the STEM Action Center of Utah bestows this designation on only those schools that provide a comprehensive learning environment and curriculum focused on the critical subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Located in Sandy, Utah, Beehive Science & Technology Academy is an open-enrollment, tuition-free STEM-focused charter school. As Beehive’s Principal, HanifiOguz, noted, “Providing a comprehensive learning experience through a STEM-focused lens helps students develop the critical skills they need for success in higher education and the pursuit of a lucrative, rewarding career.”
As of March, 2021, only 37 Utah schools have received this prominent designation. Principal Oguz further stated, “The STEM School Designation helps parents identify those schools that prepare their students for 21st century success. By teaching our students how to become innovators, problemsolvers and critical thinkers, we ensure that they uniquely suited for whatever their future might hold.”
Beehive Science & Technology Academy is accredited by Cognia, which encompasses the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS CASI). The school is further recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for its innovative incorporation of technology in education. Beehive Science & Technology Academy offers remote and on-campus learning for students in grades 6 through 12.
